Mark Smalls

Mark Smalls is an accomplished and experienced business leader who has blazed a trail of “firsts” over a multi-decade career. His extensive marketing background includes advertising, branding, market research, public relations, website development and digital marketing. Most recently Mark served as SVP and Chief Marketing Officer for JAMS, the world’s largest private alternative dispute resolution provider. At JAMS he oversaw marketing and communications strategy globally and provided leadership to the managers tasked with business development. Mark oversaw the diversity outreach team and chaired the company’s Diversity Committee.
In 2023 he launched T. Bryce Consulting which helps organizations and individuals optimize their brand, and advises companies as they look to enhance their diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives.
During his career, Mark has held marketing positions at Unilever, Pepsi and Citigroup, promoting brands such as Dove, Aquafina and the Citi AAdvantage Card. While at Citi, he served in a variety of roles, including VP of Marketing Communications for their credit card group and EVP. Consumer Marketing for Diners Club North America.
Prior to joining JAMS, Mark served as SVP of Marketing for Opportunity International, a nonprofit that provides microfinance products in 28 countries around the world. During his time at Opportunity, he was responsible for numerous marketing and fundraising initiatives and led the development and launch of the organization’s online donation website.
Mark served as the Orange County Chapter President of the CMO Club, a global network of Chief Marketing Officers that was acquired by Salesforce in 2020. He was a Johnson & Johnson Leadership Fellow at Columbia University, where he earned an M.B.A. with a concentration in Marketing. He received his B.A. in Management from Duke University.
