Advanced Mediation Principles and Skills [AMPS]

with the support of:

AMPS offers a comprehensive exploration of advanced mediation techniques, led by renowned international experts from three different continents and practical experience around the globe. Designed for mediators aiming to elevate their proficiency, the program provides actionable insights and practical demonstration to navigate the complexities of mediation effectively. Divided into two distinct day-long modules, participants have the flexibility to attend either or both days.

Day One (22 June, 8 AM – 4 PM) centers on “Mediating Complex Cases, from Before they Start to Finish.” The morning session focuses on revisiting and mastering the pre-mediation phase, emphasizing crucial skills such as active listening, and managing party expectations. In the afternoon, participants engage in a complex mediation simulation, followed by constructive feedback sessions and video analysis of experienced practitioners’ approaches to the same case.

Day Two (23 June, 8 AM – 4 PM) tackles “Dealing Ethical Dilemmas and Breaking Impasse.” The morning session equips participants with ethical decision-making skills through case studies and live demonstrations. In the afternoon, strategies for breaking deadlock and facilitating agreements are explored, empowering mediators to navigate challenging scenarios with both integrity and efficacy.

Additionally, participants receive complimentary access to the online, interactive course Cultural Diversity and its Impact on Conflict and Communication, enhancing their understanding of cross-cultural dynamics in mediation.

AMPS is designed and reserved for participants who have completed a basic mediation training and ideally possess some mediation experience, including serving as counsel in mediation proceedings.
