Giovanni Cerutti is a former General Counsel & SVP Board Secretary of NTT DATA Emea Ltd. UK, responsible for over a decade for Legal & Compliance corporate matters in Europe, Latin America, Middle East and Asia.
In his career he also gained professional experiences as a member of NTT DATA Germany Supervisory Board (Aufsichrat) and as a qualified Lead DPO in the UK (Certified Information Privacy Professional -CIPP qualification).
Previously and for 3 decades he served In-House Lawyer and Compliance Officer in other stock listed International Groups (ENI-Saipem, Honeywell, Bull, Wang, Getronics, Value Team, Value Partners) with increasing levels of managerial responsibilities across the regions and with strong advocacy towards ADR solutions in corporate activities.
He was elected for 3 consecutive terms as Board member & Treasurer of ECLA (European Company Lawyers Association, a not-for-profit association registered in Brussels) and he is currently Board member in AIGI, the Italian Chapter of Company Lawyers.
After graduation in Law at the University of Rome, he completed his academic career with a US Master’s degree at the University of Illinois (Urbana-Champaign).
He is a Fulbright Scholar and an author of publications on EU law, on M&A contracts and on “the impact of the new technologies on Copyright” (2022).
After his retirement in 2022, he is active as a pro-bono volunteer in the fields of social distress in Milan and as a strong supporter of ESG goals in the society.
In the Dialogue Through Conflict Foundation, he will be honored to serve as a contributing supporter of the mediation culture in corporate fields and working environments.
